I would like to buy a 2nd hand Ibanez JEM7V. I have found one, but I am not sure if it is real or fake. Now after reading countless of tips, I still am not sure if it's the real deal simply because it seems that the fake guitars seem to get better copied by the minute. Anyone knows what I should look out for to spot the real deal vs a recent fake one? I have looked up and broken the serial number down and it seems legit. However, would fake Ibanez guitars still make fake serial numbers which look real?

You seem to be worried that this guitar is counterfeit simply because counterfeit guitars are hard to spot. Do you have any reason to believe the guitar in question is a fake? –  NReilingh Jul 5 at 2:37

The only reason I believe it might be fake is that there is no case for it he sais. –  Valentin Grégoire Jul 5 at 8:40
