I have been trying to find a way to tab the song Questa Notte by Ludovico Einaudi for quite a while - everything is very much "tab-able" and playable until the triplets part.

I've sought helped on the ultimate guitar forum quite a while ago - here's the link to the original thread that has a fuller description of my cover attempt:

There are two guitar pro files attached in that thread that I made including the triplets part which I deemed to be unplayable.

I think you should reword the question so that it doesn't refer to a specific piece. Ask something like "tabbing triplets with large intervals, and present an example that's separate from the specific piece. Not all users will have Guitar Pro. – slim Nov 2 '11 at 13:55

Also, it's not clear to me whether (a) you know the notes, but can't work out how best to play them on a guitar, or (b) you know how to play it on a guitar, but can't see how to convey that in a tab. These are quite different questions. – slim Nov 2 '11 at 13:56
@slim Cheers for your comment. I am trying to convey the music sheet written for a piano into a tab to play on the guitar and got stuck in conveying at the triplets part - can't convey it in a way so that it's easily playable. – ld_pvl Nov 4 '11 at 12:30

So it's (a) -- you don't know how to play those notes on a guitar. Once you answer that, conveying it on a tab will not trouble you. I see you've changed the title. Can I suggest removing the link to ultimate-guitar, and rather than talking about the specific piece, presenting a problematic section as you have already tabbed it, so that you may ask "as I have tabbed this, I think it is unplayable; how else could I get these notes from a guitar?" -- as it stands, only people with access to Guitar Pro can help you -- that's not worked out so far. – slim Nov 4 '11 at 14:58

Direct transcriptions from piano to guitar can be difficult, but one solution that I have seen with other works is to move the hard-to-reach bass notes up one octave.
