Musical Practice & Performance Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for musicians, students, and enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I bought a piano almost a year ago and I really enjoy playing it. The problem for the moment is that I have no clue what pieces I should try. I bought 'Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course: Lesson Book, Level One' last year but I already play music for 15 years and this book goes way too slow for me. What I can play pretty fair right now are a couple of pieces of Yann Tiersen (comptine d'un été, comptine d'un autre été and L'Autre Valse d'Amélie)

So does anyone have any idea of websites, books and/or music pieces I might like?

Cheers! Kat

Per the FAQ, shopping recommendation questions are off-topic. If you have an objective question about a specific piece, feel free to ask. – Luke Oct 15 '12 at 19:28

Hi Kat, welcome to the site. Luke's right, Stack Exchange does things a bit differently than what you may be used to from other sites. In addition to the FAQ, the Lists section of this Meta post might be helpful. You could also try asking this question in Musical Practice & Performance Chat, where most anything goes, once you have sufficient reputation. – Matthew Read Oct 15 '12 at 21:27
The best guide is your ear. Pick pieces you want to learn, something you like listening to, there's got to be sheet music for almost anything on the web. Also, try learning to play by ear to better your musicianship. – filzilla Oct 15 '12 at 21:27
