Musical Practice & Performance Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for musicians, students, and enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I plan to know at least over 5 instruments at some point, I already play Guitar. What I'm looking for:

  • Something somewhat uncommon/unusual
  • More ability to be usable in heavier styles such as rock
  • Easy to maintain, something small would be good.

While some of these aren't exactly unusual, here's what I've found from months of research: Sitar, Harmonica, Mandolin, Ukulele, Keytar, Melodica, Accordion

Welcome to the site! Unfortunately recommendations are off-topic here, since they are very subjective and can lead to unbounded lists that turn into popularity contests (among other reasons). Check out the FAQ and feel free to ask any other questions you might have that would be a better fit! – Matthew Read Dec 9 '12 at 17:45
