I've been combing the web for a good, free MIDI editing software, but I haven't found anything yet.

The main criteria is that it's free. I don't want anything complex, but I need multiple tracks and a 'Piano Roll' editor. It must run on Windows.

Anybody have any suggestions?

What operating system are you using? There's Rosegarden for Linux; don't know about others. – nonpop Dec 21 '12 at 13:56

well the one i wrote meets the categories of "free" and "piano roll". It's not very sophisticated or intuitive, though. If you with to use it, you can email me with questions. It's the "Tinkerer" application of http://PianoCheetah.com install

I suspect the mods won't like your question, though.

Thanks for your answer! I was blocked by antivirus software when trying to install it though. Not saying that you're trying to infect me, but you may want to check your website's all running properly? – ACarter Dec 21 '12 at 18:05

To start with, it allows me to download the installer, but after clicking 'install', it stops it, (this is still the installer exe), and tells me there's a SONAR.Heuristic. – ACarter Dec 22 '12 at 10:18

Thanks so much! It's finally submitted now. I'd never know about it without your report. VirusTotal.com says it's fine per Norton, but Norton says it's not, eh? Sheesh. Start antivirus company.
