Im looking for a standalone pad controller to load and play my own samples on. Something like the Novation Lauchpad. The Novation Lauchpad must be connected to computer with Albeton Live to play the samples. Im looking for a device I can connect to my PC and load my own samples on it and disconnect it and connect it in a dj mixer in a club and play my samples without connecting it to a PC. I guess it would save the samples on the devices.

thank you :-) I was looking at the mpc series and I think the MPC500 is what im looking. Portable, even battery powered and stores samples :-) –  Stoan Dec 27 '12 at 19:26

I have an Akai LPD8, it only has 8 pads (though you can store 3 or 4 banks). It's small and cheap.
