Play classical, rock, blues, metal, spanish, slide...

On stage usually use Ibanez (7 string RG7321 and Joe Satriani signature models), or a 1989 Charvel Predator with a Dimebucker pickup through a Line 6 HD500 and a DigiTech Whammy, sometimes with a CryBaby. For the songs requiring fire I use a BC Rich Warlock with pyro attachments!

Generally DI'ed straight into the venue backline, or where we need to amplify - generally Marshall heads through Laney 4x10s.

comment Is there any substantial evidence that a constantly fluctuating pitch is considered less musical than more discrete tones?
If I understand you correctly the crux of your discussion is not about music, as these are all random notes, but about whether stepping between these random notes sounds 'better' than sliding between them. Is that correct? It is very tricky to understand what you are asking.

comment How does this technique (Beat Tap?) work?
I'm not sure if there is any shortcut route other than just to keep trying and practicing. Consistency and control are pretty much learned over time.

I am not sure which bit you are describing. The thumb is used to mute after the slap, and he just hits one string. That is just practice. You can learn to simply hit one string at a time.

In not sure it's a difference in tempo. Think it is the trying to sync the tempo with the backing track

Don't do it by trying to start the metronome live, as you don't know what the delay should be, and neither could we. Run your track into a daw, and then you can set your click track at whatever delay you like.

comment Selling arrangements online
I don't know about the ones in your area-you'd probably want to either Google or speak to local musicians, music schools etc. Here I joined through the websites. Yes there is an annual fee.

comment Where do musicians draw their melodies from?
I like the fact this answer has a bit more about the practical side, as the others are more about creativity and imagination. The balance is important.

comment With which strings would I have an easier time bending/sliding/vibrato on acoustic guitar?
I'm guessing it must be the type of guitar neck or playing style then. Having been a guitar player for a little over 25 years I play very much in a blues rock style, so bends are a key part of what I do.

interesting - I have never noticed fast fret or coatings doing anything to affect bending. Your fingers don't really slip off strings when pushing sideways...
