Lead guitarist and petrolhead with Scottish Industrial rock trio Metaltech (and our alter-ego folk band Acoustech)

  • nominated for Best Metal Act at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards 2011 (came 2nd)
  • nominated for Best Group and Best Loud Track at the Scottish New Music Awards 2011

Been gigging for 25 years, taught guitar on and off. Played a lot of the Scottish music festivals (Rock Ness, Wickerman, Belladrum etc), supported bands like Alec Empire, KMFDM, Angelspit, Psydoll. Headlined all over Scotland.

Play classical, rock, blues, metal, spanish, slide...

On stage usually use Ibanez (7 string RG7321 and Joe Satriani signature models), or a 1989 Charvel Predator with a Dimebucker pickup through a Line 6 HD500 and a DigiTech Whammy, sometimes with a CryBaby. For the songs requiring fire I use a BC Rich Warlock with pyro attachments!

Generally DI'ed straight into the venue backline, or where we need to amplify - generally Marshall heads through Laney 4x10s.

using the wonders of ohms law and it's variants :-) Updated wording to clarify slightly. Guessing you rounded the other way to me, but good to see your figures come out very similar to mine (I rounded voltage to 32V for ease of calculation)

comment Music Theory: Frequencies related to playing a note on guitar
It isn't a perception thing - your guitar just sounds really odd. Can you pop up video of how you are playing the guitar

comment Godin Multiac Nylon : how well is that guitar adapted to classical guitar players?
Downvotes can mean a lot of things to people. They may think the question doesn't show effort, or is offtopic, or a range of other items. You kind of have to accept them though - that's the way a community system works :-) It is better when people comment, but it's not the end of the world. I think the question is a bit subjective and quite localised, myself - as individuals who have used this Godin may have differing opinions.

All the places I have seen with Hammond spares have them from buying old stock - I don't know of anyone manufacturing tone wheels (although I'm sure you could get them custom made)

Well, it could, but that probably isn't it. Have a look at music.stackexchange.com/q/1053/104 and music.stackexchange.com/q/2577/104 to see if they help as well.
