Aug 19	comment	Lorem Ipsum in music Yes, that is the point. And I think that's what the thread is really about. What is music? Is there a strict dividing line between random noise and Mozart? Ever read about Xenakis' compositional technique (better, ever heard Xenakis?). It's very interesting in the sense that Xenakis starts from randomness and shapes it into music. But when is his creation music? Is John Cage's 4'33" music? I think there's also another interpretation we can give to "contentless" which would be, made with no intent. In that sense, a random generator is the best answer I can think off.

There's just one clavichord, but the clavichord for the 23rd variation has two manuals (i.e. keyboards). Still, the particular passage ash is referring to should be doable on an ordinary piano.
