Lorem Ipsum in music Yes, that is the point. And I think that's what the thread is really about. What is music? Is there a strict dividing line between random noise and Mozart? Ever read about Xenakis' compositional technique (better, ever heard Xenakis?). It's very interesting in the sense that Xenakis starts from randomness and shapes it into music. But when is his creation music? Is John Cage's 4'33" music? I think there's also another interpretation we can give to "contentless" which would be, made with no intent. In that sense, a random generator is the best answer I can think off. |

Lorem Ipsum in music They're just tuning their instruments. But it's a nice idea. |

Lorem Ipsum in music One could have a computer program generate 1/f noise and then let it harmonize it according to classical harmony rules, that would be random enough and still not so random that it doesn't sound like music. |

Lorem Ipsum in music If the sound is just pure noise, wouldn't that qualify as contentless? |

What scale is used in the Morrowind theme? What do you mean range? It's called a scale. And it's a c minor scale with raised seventh, also called the harmonic minor scale. |

How do I finger the interleaved 3rds in Goldberg 23? Possible, OP still has to produce the full score then. I think the problem is that OP is just as confused as we are. |

How do I finger the interleaved 3rds in Goldberg 23? Here's a video that shows it's perfectly possible. I think the passage ash refers to is played around 1:12. |

How do I finger the interleaved 3rds in Goldberg 23? Actually, I just checked on the Goldberg variations. There are no two pianos. There's just one clavichord, but the clavichord for the 23rd variation has two manuals (i.e. keyboards). Still, the particular passage ash is referring to should be doable on an ordinary piano. |

How do I finger the interleaved 3rds in Goldberg 23? @Jadarnel: but I only see the part for one of the pianos. So, I still don't see the problem. If he also wants to play what the other piano does, maybe he should put the score for the second piano too. |

How do I finger the interleaved 3rds in Goldberg 23? I don't see the problem? There's only one staff for one piano, so it should be playable. |

Why do these progressions sound good? Their instruments were tuned differently, which is why C-E-G sounded horrible whereas it doesn't in more modern tunings. It's not just psychology, there was also a physical reason. |

Appreciating the music of J. S. Bach I find it much more mechanical on harpsichord to be frank. The piano allows for much more dynamics than a harpsichord can. |

Playing the “fail” sound effect on a guitar? I toyed a bit around and I find a descent in tritones to sound quite "fail". For instance <Eb A> <D Ab> <Db G>. |
