comment How to select a key-signature for a song
I think reading 6 sharps is pretty easy, think about it this way: only one note does not have a sharp. It's precisely the keys which have 3 or 4 sharps/flats I find most difficult. Especially minor keys which get extra alterations. Also agreed with Matthew about E Major being relatively easy to play on the keyboard as compared to C Major for instance. Though that would also depend on the intrinsic difficulty of the piece.

comment How high from the ground should the keyboard from a piano be?
So if I put the piano on a table and just heighten my seat so that my arms are parallel to the floor, it should be OK then?

comment I'm looking to build a basic repertoire of Brazilian music. Which songs would you recommend I start with?
Add to the mix another tune: Aquarela do Brasil by Ary Barroso.

comment What's the term for the intervals between notes within a scale that produces a chord
@Monica: A tritone consists of three tones, which would be about two minor thirds (except for comma's). Two major thirds amounts to an augmented fifth or a minor sixth.

Here's another one for your enjoyment. But I'm also curious to know if there is some training for it.

comment What to look for when buying a digital piano for a beginner?
For the number of keys, definitely go for 88 keys. This way, you are certain to be able to play the entire classical repertoire, except maybe for a couple of pieces composed for the rare 88+ keyboard.

comment Is it normal, when playing scales on the piano, to occasionally rub neighboring fingers against each other?
I don't have this problem, I don't think you should either.

Is this going in the right direction? Seems to be a work in progress though.

comment How can I significantly improve my hand independence on piano?
I'm afraid there's no quick fix to this problem. It only comes through hard training. But there are of course certain things you should pay attention to. Also, if you think that just having independence of the hands is enough, think again, you should aim at having independence of every single finger.
