As a student, my fascination with science yielded a computer science merit award and a software internship. As a professional, I've focused on entrepreneurial ventures while designing, developing, and deploying products on desktop, internet, and mobile platforms.
While advising numerous early stage startups, I've provided technical vision and leadership, mentoring novice technical contributors into mature teams based on a culture of coaching, learning, and lightweight software process.
Three characteristics define my work: idealism, minimalism, and pragmatism. As an idealist, I envision the impossible. As a minimalist, I ask: what's the simplest solution that could possibly work? As a pragmatist, I balance the tension between the two by making ideas manifest in products.
I approach the work with an attitude of curiosity, empathy, and humility. When creating something new, I begin simply using pencil, paper, and python to move from concept to prototype to product. For me, code is a means to an end. The end is product. Shipping product.
