Software engineer for the New York Times.
I am a web developer working primarily with Python web services. Most of the projects I have worked on have been web applications in variants of the Front Controller MVC pattern. I've also worked extensively utilizing Jquery for front-end client side architecture, integrating dynamic server responses with AJAX to create rich web experiences. My foray into web development began with PHP applications, and my framework of choice in that context is Kohana 3.1.
My main focus in development is innovation. I believe in working hard at understanding core concepts under the hood, even if that occasionally means 'wasting time' (your mileage may vary) on reinventing the wheel. More than anything else I appreciate the sense of community that pervades this profession.

Differentiating between fast 6/8 and 4/4 Thanks for the answer. I ask more for sequencing drums in a MIDI environment, so setting the meter for the click track so the feeling is right becomes a bit of a pain in examples like this. Thanks for your help! |
