comment When tuning a guitar, why is it only in tune for a moment?
@Matt: try gently resting a finger of your left hand at the half-way fret and releasing as the string is plucked. This mutes some harmonics and can give a tone that is easier to tune.

comment MIDI-Keyboards with integrated audio?
From what I recall, the special drivers were for low-latency. In situations where latency was not an issue, you can use standard USB-MIDI drivers.

comment MIDI-Keyboards with integrated audio?
@flopr: The Sono 61 and 88 actually have built in 128 General MIDI range of instruments plus 46 drum sounds. The 5 or 10 high quality instruments have dedicated buttons but you can access the others. The Sonos incorporate MIDI-keyboard, sound synthesis and a basic audio mixer (e.g. for guitar and mic). You only need external monitors. As in CLs answer, stage-piano is a useful term for this class of devices.

Stand-alone MIDI sound modules are good in that they don't have the latency problems you so often get with PC USB based solutions. However PC-based Virtual instruments have the virtue of cheapness (assuming you already have the laptop)

comment What should I look for in speakers for an electronic keyboard
Another option to look for are a pair of small "studio monitors". These are powered loudspeakers with a built-in amplifier intended for listening at close distances. They are suitable for use at home.

comment What kind of piano is useful for beginning players and beyond?
Many people recommend a keyboard with a graduated (or progressive) hammer action as being the most like a traditional mechanical piano.

comment Electronic keyboard terms: Aftertouch vs Pressure-sensitive
Thanks Alex, so is the reviewer writing nonsense when they list three things rather than two? Perhaps it is an editing error or something?

comment Electronic keyboard terms: Aftertouch vs Pressure-sensitive
The article said "velocity and aftertouch but not pressure sensitive" - If "pressure-sensitive" = midi-velocity how can it be veolicity sensitive but not pressure sensitive? I'm still confused
