How can I connect speakers to my POD 2.0 and get a good sound? I just plugged the line-out of my POD ("direct" mode) to a mixer, and then the speaker system to the headphone-out of the mixer. It works really well. Thanks. |

Improving fretting hand strength Today I finally had the time to take my guitar to the shop and play a dozen of their guitars - it's fascinating how easy it is to play some of them. Some acoustic guitars feel more like my electric guitar. I'll probably get one of those - and have fun again when playing a difficult piece. |

How can I connect speakers to my POD 2.0 and get a good sound? Another question: Are you connecting your cables to a line-in of your Hi-Fi system? Mine is a very simple one, and all it has is a single headphone connector (male mini TRS) - that's it (but it does produce great sound when listening to music). For my POD's line-out, I can choose between "direct" and "AMP" mode - so should I maybe prefer to connect my speakers there (with an adapter)? |

How can I connect speakers to my POD 2.0 and get a good sound? First of all: It's good to hear, that you could make it work with your POD! I already lowered the master volume on my POD. I don't think I have a "mix table", but I'm not sure where to find it... |

Improving fretting hand strength Yeah, true. Playing the same songs on my electric guitar feels much more easy and fluent, and that's what I want to achieve with my classic guitar, too. Maybe I'll buy a (cheap) steelstring acoustic as my 3rd guitar, just for the strength exercises :-) |

How do I properly stretch my newly strung strings? I just noticed, that I used the phrase "gently but firmly" "away from the fingerboard", and the accepted answer (which was written earlier) uses "slowly but firmly" "away from the fingerboard". Sorry, this partial plagiarism was unintentional... We both seem to do this quite similarly - I just found out someday, that tuning higher than usual makes the process significantly faster. |

What does it mean to play in an 'arpeggiated' style on the guitar? Note, that an arpeggio is not always the 1st, 3rd and 5th; it's a decomposition of the chord, so e.g. for a Dsus4, it's the 1st, 4th and 5th. |

How to hide a flat pick in the right hand when switching to finger picking, Warren Haynes style Instead of putting it between the teeth, I prefer to just press it on my forehead. It holds there pretty well all by itself! :-) |

Improving fretting hand strength Lots of great pointers in there, thanks! I'll definitely start with stretching in the future. I wonder, if 5mm (0.197 inches) between the E string and the 12th fret may be too much for a classic guitar - I really don't know? |

Improving fretting hand strength "you should even be able to barre without the thumb at all" - wow, that really works! Very interesting. I'll experiment more with arm positions. |

Improving fretting hand strength I tried this exercise yesterday, and it's very nice because it alternates between tension and relaxation evenly. I'll keep doing it for some time. I actually couldn't bring my hand to the point where it can't go any longer (I ran out of time) - I think I've built up quite some endurance over the years, but only little strength. |
