comment Why do lighter picks sound “better” on acoustic guitars?
I have a thin brass pick that's very stiff but still has the brilliant thin pick sound. I'm sure it has more to do with mass than flexibility.

comment Is there any other blues chord progression?
If someone could edit this so that it didn't show the chord descriptions in the jazzy version, I'd love it.

comment Different kinds of capos
Also, band-style capos need not be elastic; my old band-style capo has a non-elastic nylon band and is similar to this: sweetwater.com/store/detail/ProCapoCurv

comment Different kinds of capos
That's good, there's a distinction between the Kyser style, which use a spring (which will squeeze as tight as it's built and might pull the strings sharp, but are easy to take on and off) and a screw (Shubbs being the first to mind) which can be adjusted to squeeze only as tight as needed. I know of a screw-tightened capo that wraps around the neck and is left "tightened" to the nut when not in use.

comment Is it possible for a left hander to learn guitar right handed?
Would certainly add Steve Morse, Mattias IA Eklundh and Robert Fripp to the list of my favorite guitarists. Mattias is a freak.

comment Is it practical (or even beneficial) to put pickup phase switch on Telecaster?
I have about the same doing serial instead. I'd say reverse the bridge leads, because otherwise you need to run a separate ground for the neck pickup cover.

comment Why does plucked and bowed string of violin produces slightly different pitches?
I would suggest that, if you're mostly going to play pizzicato, then that is correct, but if you're mostly going to bow (which is to be expected; if you're mostly picking, play a mandolin!) then making sure that's in tune is correct. Guitarists like me have a similar issue, where hard picking can drive you sharp. If you're going to do hard picking mostly, tune so the attack is correct, but if you're largely a lead player, tune so the sustain is in tune.

comment Why are there many guitarists, but only one drummer in a band?
Come to think of it, during Colin Hay and John Waite songs, both Ringo and Sheila played the full kit.
