Leading a jam session Most jam sessions I attended were like everybody takes their instruments, listens to each other and tries to play something that fits in. We try to do the same here (just taking instruments, and start playing), but that goes horribly wrong. I was thinking about something like printing out a 12-bar-blues scheme on a poster as a general guide of what we are doing. But playing the same scheme for the whole session sounds a little boring. |

What is the best software, to cut a loop out of a song, for rehearsal purposes? If you have a Mac, you could use garageband which ships with each Mac. |

How is electronic music performed live? Thank you for trying to help me, but I can't tell if your comment is intended to be constructive or rather ironic. I was not hoping for the last, so I'll take it as a serious comment. I don't just want to hit «Play» on my MacBook, as that is rather boring for the audience, for me, and I think for everyone. Also, as I really have put time and effort into making the productions of decent quality, so I don't want to play them like a cheap start-stop-pitch DJ. I want to give a real performance and I want to entertain the audience. |

What should I look for in a metal bass guitar? Something like Gene Simmon's bass? Looks pretty evil. notreble.com/buzz/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/… |
