I am a Software Consultant.
I play the Tuba in a wind orchestra (Klepp Hornmusikk). I also occationally play some guitar and harmonica at home.

What is the best way to introduce my 4 year old to harmonica? +1 for singing. He does sing a lot, and is extremly good at picking up texts. Even english texts, that he doesn't understand the meaning of (we are norwegian). |

What does a small x-like symbol before a note mean? @PatrickDaSilva: Like you noticed, it really raises it half a note from the already sharpened note in the key signature. This is the most common situation to use the double-sharp. I have never seen it used to raise a note a whole step that is not already raised by a normal sharp. See the linked question in Babu's comment for more details on why it is used. |

How to know what notes/chords go together while improvising? You say you ask 3 questions here, but all 3 are really related. It all comes down to knowing the basics of the chord progressions and playing around that. See @Gauthier's answer for details. |

Why is Italian the standard for expressive markings in music? You mean: ...so nobody could understand, but still perform... ;-) |

What is a “producer” in hip-hop music? @Laurent: I think you should edit you question and add more background of why you asked this question, and specifically about how this is related to hiphop. Basically add what you said in the comment to Dr Mayhem's answer. |
