How is electronic music performed live? also, I didn't say that playing a guitar is not a valid form of performing live ... but the question and @KeithS's answer was about about performing electronic music, and how that would shomehow be thought of as less advanced or legit than perfoming with a guitar... |

How is electronic music performed live? you're right in that it is a continuum, but the answer above by @KeithS was pointing out that a lot of producers just do normal DJ sets when they go play their music live, rather than performing it, and that this is perfectly OK, and that the original poster of the question could just do the exact same thing: go DJ the music without actually performing it. In my opinion, this is a sad state of affairs, and there should be a real performance, not just merely playing back the music or mixing it. |
