How can I teach a student who seems to have no rhythm? This is a nice answer. We are currently on a break for the holiday so as soon as I get back I will definitely try that technique. I agree that his "problem" is really fundamental so this seems like the way to go. |

How can I teach a student who seems to have no rhythm? hehe. My vocal teacher made me do these kinds of stuff for concentration. I used to walk around the room clapping and shouting stuff. It sounds weird but it works really well. The only downside in this situation is that it is much tougher than it sounds. You never know when you will find the button of a person though, so I will try this too. Thank you for bringing it up. |

How can I teach a student who seems to have no rhythm? I haven't tried that. I will! But most of the times he makes mistakes that he can't understand. Won't listening to mistakes make them stick in his head? - Also I WILL suggest some rhythmically-interesting music. That one seems like a must cause I think part of the problem is his lack of rhythmical stimulations throughout his life so far. |

How can I teach a student who seems to have no rhythm? I tried recording myself on video playing and singing the rhythm so he can listen to it and maybe try to play along. But he can't keep up with it. And it obviously doesn't help him cause he understood the wrong rhythm when I came back next week - even though he had on video. But you're right about his attention because the only times he can play the rhythm continuously are when he seems distracted and completely relaxed. |

Weird light instead of pick? +1 for God is an Astronaut :) And I think you're refering to an EBow so +1 to Dmitry's answer as well. |

How to compose an acoustic guitar chorus? +1 from me. That's interesting. I've never tried to theorize composition so much. Could be fun so I'm gonna try it. With a pinch of salt though because philosophically I think approaching music like this takes out the element of surprise and SOMETIMES feeling and intuition. But I haven't given it much thought to see if there are any holes in that theory :) If you find yourself stuck though it would definitely help you out. |

Acoustic Guitar Body Types - Main Differences (Suggested Genres) Thx thats the answer I was looking for! I'm leaning towards a nice Dreadnought. I really like the looks of it and it seems like it will fit the music I wanna play better. I'm looking for a coldplay-ish - radiohead-ish acoustic sound. I especially liked the acoustic guitars on "In Rainbows" album by Radiohead. Ofc that album doen't have that much strumming. More like loud flat picking. But I think I get the idea. |
