Thank you Matthew, I'm glad someone got my point. Sigurd Rascher, arguably the father of the saxophone, once said, "The seeming upper limit of the saxophone is the fault of the performer." While he spoke then of altissimo, I think it can expand as follows: "The seeming limit of an instrument is the fault of the performer"
