My name is Jason C. McDonald. I am the CEO and Lead Developer at MousePaw Games. Our mission is to create educational software for use in schools and at home, that entertain and engage kids of all learning styles, even those with disabilities. (Connect with me on LinkedIn)

I use C++ and Python. I know GTK (via gtkmm/PyGTK/PyGObject), Javascript, XML, XAML, WPF, Silverlight, and some SQL and SQLite. I also have working proficiency with C#. I have webmastering experience, in which I work heavily with HTML and CSS.

Historically, I have used Flash CS6 and ActionScript 3 extensively, and am very experienced with it. However, I recently had my company abandon the platform entirely. I also have experience with Visual Basic .NET, Visual C++, and VBScript, though I do not actively use the platform in any capacity.

(Some of my software projects are available on MousePaw Labs.)

I have experience with the following IDEs: Code::Blocks, NINJA-IDE, Geany, Notepad++, IDLE, Adobe Flash Professional CS.5/CS6, and Visual Studio 2010/2012.

I am the creator and primary developer of Ratscript, a proprietary programming language at my software company.

I am familiar with many operating systems, including Windows 98, XP, and 7, 8, 8.1, Mac OS X, Ubuntu, and several other Linux distros. I know how to do most OS software repairs, and I remove malware and clean Windows systems as a hobby. I also enjoy helping Windows-shy computer users switch to and learn Ubuntu.

I am an author, and I write and speak on the subject of programming - most recently, "A Field Guide to Common Nerds." I tutor math and computer science at the local community college, and train my company's employees in C++, design practices, game development, and various other technologies.

Aside from programming, I am a fiction author, a writing coach, and pianist, guitarist, and composer. You can find that side of me here.
