comment Amp picking up radio stations
Also, I suppose that hearing your voice through the amp when you talk close to the guitar has to do with the (mechanical) wave generated by your vocal cords just slightly vibrating the strings, since your voice alone can't do anything with the magnetic field generated by the pickup. Radio waves are eletromagnetical waves, a whole different realm just to start with.

I don't really know what JUB is, but if I understand it correctly it's a university? Then no, I'm from Brazil and the college I go to is called UFMG =D

comment Properly fingering jazz chords?
I'm interested in the answer too, though I'm not sure "jazz chord" is the proper term... maybe "dissonant chords" or "'colored' chords"?

I didn't really imply that there was a "standart notation", but there are some conventions that are true more often than not. In fact, there's an explanation for the symbols in the songbook, but I only noticed it after I posted the question and it's in Japanese. While I did ask for a friend to translate it for me, I think that the question is still useful to keep the answer as a public reference, since some people can find this page via a Google search, for example.

That's true, but what about the other symbols in the title of the question?

comment Using alternative tunings
In the song "Iris" (from the "City of Angels" sountrack), Goo Goo Dolls uses a tuning where all strings are tuned to the note D (in three different octaves), except the sixth one, which is tuned to B. The actual notes are (from high to low), D5, D5, D4, D4, D3 and B2.

It's a really good explanation, but I'll leave the question open just a little more to see if other/alternative explanations come up =D

comment Multi-Effects Pedal or Multiple Effects Pedals?
Rafael Bittencourt, from Brazilian heavy metal band Angra, uses a BOSS GT-10 live. Maybe Angra isn't a major act absolutely speaking, but they can be regarded as a "large" band within many contexts.

comment What is intonation and how can I find out if my guitar has correct intonation?
Actually, in a "guitar context", "intonation" refers more specifically to "being in tune" for the fretted notes. In your answer, you imply that "being in tune" and "being with correct intonation" are the same thing, and the same thing they are not.
