comment What factors affect the loudness of a drum?
Journal of the Acoustical Society of America / Volume 5 / Issue 2 Next Article Loudness, Its Definition, Measurement and Calculation J. Acoust. Soc. Am. Volume 5, Issue 2, pp. 82-108 (1933); (27 pages) Harvey Fletcher and W. A. Munson, There is can be seen how ridiculous is the statement "The loudness is the amplitude of the vibration by the way."

comment Orchestration and painting evenly over the spectrum
Interesting. In Berlioz's example there is a moment in which some brass instrument plays low and a flute plays some high notes. Nothing else is playing. So, I suppose that would be a gap. On the other hand, the sound has 'depth'. I will add an analogy with painting that came to my mind right now. Maybe that conveys better the quality of the sound I mean.

comment Difference between dissonance and clashing notes
Dissonance between two notes can be defined as a property of the sound. I don't know how, but it is not completely clear to me that the same cannot be done for larger number of simultaneous notes. How consonance and dissonance are interpreted as pleasant or not, for example, is a different story.

Loudness is a subjective property. Therefore it not only depends on the drum, and the player (which was already said) but also on the listener.

comment Is it acceptable to play the same note sumultaneously on different strings on Cello?
It gives an example that the idea has been considered acceptable by a renowned musician. It also explains what you achieve with it. You not only get a bit more volume but also, because of the different physical properties of the strings and the millimetric inaccuracies of the position of the finger you get extra little harmonics when the two waves get added together.
