What are the ABRSM graded examinations, and why would one want to take them? Just a clarification: there's no sense in which the ABRSM grade system is "imposed on education" in the UK. Schools are required to teach the National Curriculum, which includes music, but this is not derived from or related to the ABRSM syllabus. The widespread adoption of the ABRSM system is wholly voluntary. |
