I'm a beginning bass guitar player with a Fender Squier Affinity Jazz Bass. I'm always looking for tips and tricks on how to improve. I chose bass guitar because I have a good sense of rhythm, and I like the idea that bass is more of a "support" role for music. I think that most music sounds fuller and more rounded with a good bass sound.
Style-wise, I'm currently leaning towards rock and metal so I can learn to play some of my favorite songs.

Where to rest your thumb when playing bass: Pickup vs. Strings vs. Thumbrests Thanks for commenting on the pickup concerns. Like I said in my comment above, it's hard to determine what info is BS and what isn't when you're a beginner and there's a million opinions out there to hear. |

Where to rest your thumb when playing bass: Pickup vs. Strings vs. Thumbrests Thanks for your answer! With all of the information out there, it's kind of hard for a beginner to disseminate what's valid and what isn't, what's BS, and what's not. |
