comment Understanding metal guitar music writing structure
@Andy No tuning the actual strings within the to a certain tuning such as Drop C each individual string needs its own tuning within the program and getting them all in the right tuning seems very confusing...

Well the answer is exactly what I am looking for.... the tuning part and writing song tracks are part of the software if that was unclear... like tuning the strings correctly in the track settings.

comment Acoustic guitar's bridge had come off while tuning
Yeah I'm not a guitarist by any stretch of the imagination but I have a guitar similar to this one and it was quite a cheap investment. the best way to avoid this is probably buy a more expensive model. Usually you get what you pay for. but like the answer says I would monitor your tuning closely too.

Its hard to tell whether it was your fault or the manufacturers fault if the glue was not applied right it may not have been secured properly... on the other hand the only way I could see that happening is through over tension... however I would expect the string to give before the bridge so maybe a manufacturing fault. was it a relatively cheap guitar?

comment Physical problems during singing
Thanks for this, I am happy that it isn't dangerous and happier still that it suggests I'm singing correctly. When I started out singing I was always told not to strain or constrict my throat so that has been conditioned in my mind. I'll just have to manage breathing better as you suggested. Thanks Again!

comment How much can I expect my vocal range to improve with high quality vocal training
You need to ask yourself, How far are you willing to take the sessions and how determined are you to learn. any teacher can teach you (albeit if they are qualified or competent enough to do so) but you need to be willing to learn. If you self trained you may find it hard to be taught. Just an initial impression I'm providing here. No assumptions.

comment How to interpret results of the failed exam
It would probably be best to google the grading system, I am not graded in any instrument I just gained knowledge from my friends that grading exists ("like im grade 4 in piano" and so on) I self taught drums and vocals so im not experienced with the grading system(s).

comment Learning pick and finger-picking at the same time?
@shootingstars no not at all if you have the time during the song to adjust the grip off you plectrum to allow for finger playing faster songs maybe a problem. dropping the Plectrum maybe a concern haha!

I have to disagree if you can learn different styles it will broaden your musical horizons playing with different techniques is a great way of increasing proficiency with any instrument. Different grip with drumming for example.

comment How to adapt guitar playing style to a new genre
@muffin haha no problem the list goes on I would run out of characters on the comments section if I named them all :P. Heres a few more to get the creative Juices flowing stemming from Metal core to thrash to Groove Metal. Lamb of God, Disturbed, Hatebreed, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Chimera.

Asking Alexandria wouldn't have been my first choice but alternate picking is a key technique to materialize in Metalcore its mostly 4/4 timing signature and above 150bpm so teaching your brain the alternate picking manoeuvre would be very beneficial look at the likes of early Bullet for My Valentine, All That Remains and Trivium. you will be surprised to know that metal has punk influences in some of its riffs and structures.

comment Drummer: Follow Bassist, Guitarist, or Lead
I think the structure of a song and the time keeping is a team effort I find myself in certain places following everyone at different times. its just what clicks to me that "Oh now I should be playing this riff" and so on..

comment Difficulty tuning in Drop D
I would definitely check whether you have a floating bridge because those are also part of the tuning process as it will drop if the strings are loosened.
