comment What exactly is the act of playing behind the beat?
Thanks, I was just listening to AC/DC and could feel that groove in For Those About To Rock. The rhythm section sounds laid back and relaxed as the guitars and vocals sound more on top of the beat.

comment Why is Hendrix's tuning at Woodstock in between Eb and E?
Considering the conditions at Woodstock it is not surprising that the tuning would not be in some traditional standard pitch. I mean they just jammed. Van Halen has tunes recorded like Ain't Talkin Bout Love that are tuned in between E - Eb.

comment How can you get a Country and Western sound with just a guitar and vocal?
Bass note then full chord strumming on the guitar. Boom-chuck sound. I'm not a country singer so all I can say is try to copy.

comment How do I get out of my song writing rut and compose something new and fresh for a change?
And how many songs are out there that use standard chord progressions? Happy Birthday uses the same chord I IV V like the blues, do they sound similar? Sounds like you have to do more research on your own to be convinced.

comment How to find popular and relevant songs from different decades?
Sounds like an interesting project. Like a big data project for songs. I can see some cool analysis on song structures throughout the decades with the information.
