comment How to read guitar tabs more effectively and efficiently?
It would certainly be easier for the player to understand the basic chords of the guitar and relate that to the tab. If you can recognize the first chord as an F shape then Am shape using the capo, it would be quicker to memorize the song. The player should relate those shapes to chords. Therefore the player can understand how the music is made through the chords for other songs they may want to play.

comment Why does most “Country” Music use mostly major and minor plain simple chords?
Country rarely uses minor chords. Country, Folk and Bluegrass use major chords and sometimes a minor. Why fix what's not broken? It is the sound the originators preferred. If you want more complex harmony, try Western Swing.

comment Right-handed newbie with dodgy left index finger tip (knuckle) - What to do?
In my experience I had a student who was left-handed and trying to play right-handed because he didn't have a left-handed guitar. He was a beginner and it was more difficult to learn. But if you are looking to play basic chords, it may be worth a try if the finger in cooperating. But don't give up.

comment what distinguishes jazz from classical and vice versa?
I look at the question as being in a position as a composer that is getting a request from someone. I believe that you would have to determine what the differences in the style are to satisfy a request. We all would like to compose to the truest thing but people who are employed as composers are asked for certain styles.

comment Should I practise chords as a beginner?
Good advice...those guys started off with basics. You would have to if playing fast and clean is the goal. They have also put in a lot of work and they are very disciplined to play that style.

comment Should I practise chords as a beginner?
Stairway offers nice strumming chord progressions used in many songs beyond it's intro. The solo is a great example of how to utilize the whole neck for scales. I think it is an appropriate choice, but other tunes like Heartbreaker, Whole Lotta Love, and Communication Breakdown can be easily understood for riffs too.

comment How can a novice singer develop their tone?
ok, I practice listening to one phrase of a vocal like the first lyrics of a song and concentrate on copying the phrase. I record my take and listen to it. I then repeat the process to get closer. I only can say I go by ear and just copy and verify by recording.

comment How is 12-bar blues harmonically possible?
Try playing Mixolydian scales over each chord. It has the flatted seventh to match chord. Experiment with that and the C Minor and Major pentatonic scales too.
