comment What to check when buying a new guitar?
@slim, I disagree. It's super easy to fix and $200 is almost nothing for an electric guitar. If you're a beginner and don't know what you are doing, you should get a setup on your guitar anyway. It's worth doing for any guitar, pretty much regardless of price.

comment Serato Scratch Live or Traktor Scratch Pro? (Or None)
Voted to close as a shopping recommendation. Question would be ok as "What should I look for in DJ software" but not as a comparison of two specific pieces of software.

comment What is a harmonic note and how do you play it?
@jadarnel, no the 12th fret harmonic is the same note as the 12th fret fretted.

comment A guitar won't stay in tune, also dirty pickup selector
Terrible idea. WD-40 leaves a residue that attracts dirt. It fixes the problem in the short term, but makes it worse in the long term.

@Matthew, I totally disagree. I think the question is certainly sufficient for a complete answer, and I could give one. There are two basic paths, each with a couple of common choices. I could definitely supply a pretty definitive answer to this question. I think if you use the guitar analogy, it's similar to the questions about electric, acoustic, type, style, amps, effects.

comment Guitar Amplifier (Head versus Combo versus None)
In order to play quietly at home, through your existing stereo, or headphones, something like the POD is definitely the way to go. There are a number of options, but any amp modeler will treat you ok. Once you want to start playing with other people, you'll need a real amp (or PA system), but you'll be fine with the amp modeler for a good while.
