comment Will learning to play another instrument help me to become a better guitarist?
I started music as a clarinet/Alto sax player and as a guitarist I have a better sense of melody and phrasing than I do for complex rhythms as I'm sure a once drummer would have on guitar. A drummer, I assume that begins to play guitar would be able to grasp the strumming faster than say scales and phrasing. Any body have that experience?

As a proficient guitarist and one time Sax player..the piano still scares me to death and have a hard time doing anything but throw my fingers down and try to make a cool sounding chord. I agree with the reply 100% I WANT to learn piano so that it will enhance my ability to grasp poly rhythms and chord interplay.

wow dude thanks for that answer! The current solution I have come up with does involve three amps and an ABY box. I need to look into the loopers and see what they are all about. that's a device I never really knew about and I'll look into it. Thanks again!

I'm going for a layered type of sound. The Digitech Whammy has a dry out jack, and I'm looking at a setup that will allow for an amp to come off both output from the whammy so that sounds like 2-3 guitars at once, plus accomodate stereo effects like a delay and chorus. I think I can do it as long as I keep the stereo effects to only 2. I just experimented using my little bass combo off of my stereo delay (TC Electronic Nova Repeater) and it sounds pretty good. Good enough for using it for stereo effects!!

comment What is the Difference between Maple and Rosewood Fretboards
Yeah +1 for Warmoth too! As soon as I get my tax return I'm getting my first custom guitar from there. Also to add, To me Maple vs. Rosewood is an esthetic choice. I have not been able to feel the difference. I prefer ebony though. I need to play on more maple fretboards to see if I can really tell the difference.

I just want to be able to have true stereo effects with a minimal amount of amps to carry around. I have a snarling dogs ABY that does A&B. I'll give that a shot in reverse.
