comment Guitar Fetish Pickups - Can anyone describe their tone and quality?
@bleakcabal and @Neil Fein - you guys are both totally right. I just had a guitar question and hit Guitars.SE before I even really thought about it. It's totally subjective.

comment How to record the sound of an acoustic guitar with a magnetic pickup?
@John Assymptoth - Obviously I can't tell you anything about products I've never used. But $20 sounds like a really low bar. Here (bhphotovideo.com/c/product/800751967-USE/…) is the best price I can find on a product from a company and supplier that I've heard of. You'll still need some sort of software to deal with your sound once it's in your computer - that's a separate question. Hope this helps!

comment How to begin learning the CAGED Method
Justin's stuff is great - his song lessons are great, he's a good person, a good player, and a good teacher. It's a real skill to be able to engage with students you never meet, and he's got it.

comment Cheap alternative to a SG Standard
@the Tin Man - I concur with you re: Ibanez. I have an SZ520QM that is the standard by which I measure guitars. When I decided I wanted to play, I went shopping for an SG and ended up buying the Ibanez. When I wanted a hollowbody, I went shopping for a Gretsch and ended up with an Ibanez. When I went shopping for a (cheap) acoustic, I just skipped the first step and started with Ibanez...

comment How can I practice in an apartment without annoying the neighbours?
@Frank Drake - I have your solution in an amp - a Vox Valvetronix! I love it, and when I need silence, I can just use the headphone jack. But my friend was looking for an inexpensive solution and this offered more than the Vox. I prefer the tube-infused tones of the Vox, but I would love the looper, drum machine, expression pedal, and USB interface of the DigiTech!
