In your final question, I think you're using it to mean "vertical intervallic relationships between voices"? Because Fux spends plenty of time talking about intervallic relationships horizontally, within a melody. If I'm right, then the question is almost "Has anyone ever attempted a deliberately anachronistic misunderstanding of Fux?" (To which the answer is "Every freshman class, man...") | |
