Naming the chords, even applying RNA is fine, but vi - III - I (all "/V") isn't a functional progression. I think you were closer to the mark in calling it a voice-leading progression. Jazz certainly feels no compulsion to adhere to common-practice era rules of harmony, but it often follows more-or-less smooth voice-leading. | |
