However, The Boss is not in G♯ major (or, I'd tend to prefer, the enharmonic equivalent A♭) but rather F minor (which is the relative minor to A♭). The raised degree herein (D♮ instead of D♭) is here the VI, which gives a Dorian scale, which as tinyd already said is quite common in funk. | |
