May 12, 2012 at 20:13 | comment | added | leftaroundabout | It's not "just cheating": exactly the same wouldn't necessarily be optimal; on string instruments trills are also often fingered at slightly different spots than the corresponding "normal" notes, not because it's easier to play but to get a more pronounced sound. Though, that again mainly applies to fast trills. | |
