What violin strings will sound the richest and warmest sound?

Note: I am looking towards a deep-bright-old-woody sound (as opposed to brilliant/sweet/ringy). I need it for traditional/gipsy music, and it doesn't have to sound like the classical standarts if that matters, at least you get the idea of what sound I mean.
