So the game Planetside 2 has a really cool country sounding soundtrack for one of the factions:

I'd really love a tabbed version of the acoustic guitar in this. I can't tell what genre or where i'd find more of this but i NEED it in my life.

  • Welcome to the site. Unfortunately, questions such as this are not within the remit here, so it will be closed as it stands. That's probably the reason for downvotes. – Tim Nov 1 '17 at 8:57
  • No, thank you and the community for the warm welcome. Though i have no idea what constitutes what is or isn't within the remit of this site, i don't know why a simple question gets shut down so quickly. The only sites that are dedicated to this type of question are the likes of ultimate guitar and such with horrible trollish communities. And although he answered a particular question that has value to only one person at least he answered it in a way that someone googling something similar will be met with a method on how to help one's self rather than directly aiming it at me alone. – irplank Nov 1 '17 at 11:11
  • If you're interested in joining this mainly troll-free community, which I find enlightening, and has many values and incredibly conscientious contributors, then go to 'ask question' then look at 'visit the help centre'. All the parameters are set out for your perusal. – Tim Nov 1 '17 at 11:17
  • It clearly has values, i got an excellent reply immediately. To be honest when i got redirected here by google it took me straight to the ask a question page, it didn't give me a rundown of anything, just register and ask, so i did. But thanks for understanding i'll be more mindful in the future, i never knew this (music portion of stack exchange) site even existed before this. – irplank Nov 1 '17 at 11:27

Not going to try waste time making the whole of this but here is some tips on trying to tab it yourself. I will assume you have decent knowledge about guitar and playing. In guitar songs like this type, first find the base chord. In this case the chord is Em, you can tell this because strumming this chord sounds good in the start of this song. Next try and find the melody, the melody make take a while depending on your ear and skill level. In this case I tabbed the song using this method as I do many songs for fingerstyle covers. Here is a complimentary first bit of the tab. The other parts take more time and are harder so I won't tab them.

E--0-----------|-------------------------|--------------|-------------------------|

A---2----------|-------------------------|--------------|-------------------------|

D----0h2-----|-0h2p0-----0-0h2--|-----------2-|------------2-0-0h2--|

G--------------|------------0------------|--2-----0----|--3p2p0-------------|

B--------------|--------------------------|-----0--------|------------------------|

e--------------|--------------------------|---------------|------------------------|

Btw just google 'planetside 2 full soundtrack tabs' and you would've found this after some research...

It will take some time but just try to figure out things like this by ear and tab them yourself, it increases your ability on guitar greatly doing this. Good luck! :)

  • Thank you so much for the help my good sir, you are truly a scholar and a gentleman. To be honest i made a bad habit of using guitar pro when i started and never trained myself to do it by ear. I did google it and the only tabs that i could find are for the menu music and not this one minute clip itself. You wouldn't happen to know what genre of music this instrumental type is called? – irplank Nov 1 '17 at 3:04
  • Could we please resist the temptation to answer completely off-topic questions. It gives the wrong impression - that any old question can be asked & it will get an answer. – Tetsujin Nov 1 '17 at 8:46
  • @irplank Sry I am not sure what the type is, maybe a sub genre of instrumental country? – Unknown Nov 1 '17 at 9:12
  • @Tetsujin I was just trying to be helpful sry, In the future, what stack exchange site would these types of questions go in? Thx for helping. – Unknown Nov 1 '17 at 9:16
  • @Unknown - it's not a question that fits anywhere on SE really. Essentially because it's of value to only one person. – Tetsujin Nov 1 '17 at 9:24
