I have been looking for a way to use effect pedals as I am paraplegic. I do not have enough money to buy a Line-6 60 Watts amp, and I came across the Guitar Rig 5 software after reading.
However, I can't afford a Focusrite sound card. Can a 6-channel 5.1 USB external soundcard work with the software? If yes, how do I connect it to be able to play on stage?

  • I would advise against using an interface made by a brand that doesn't specifically make musician's gear. You will need a dedicated guitar input (which is different form a microphone or a line input) and the interface and its drivers will need to be made for low-latency operation. The cheapest that offers reasonable quality would be something like the Behringer U-Phoria UM2. – Your Uncle Bob Apr 16 at 0:12
  • But do you think it will work at least – Femi Femii Apr 16 at 6:20
  • There doesn't seem to be a Hi-Z guitar input, so I doubt it. Unless you have some sort of pre-amp to bring your guitar signal up to line level. – Your Uncle Bob Apr 16 at 8:57
  • Thanks a lot now i get the logic – Femi Femii Apr 16 at 13:38
