Why do many classical guitarists move the fingers for vibrato like a violin?

That being said, it's quite a subtle vibrato and to get anywhere near an expressive vibrato with a technique like this, one would have to apply the finger not between frets but behind the nut. … Btw the usual vibrato technique on the guitar also works by stretching the string. …
