I am a rank amateur. I play flute by ear, as well as sing (occasionally). Somewhat dyslexic when it comes to reading music, and therefore, being lazy, depend on the ear. I'm now taking voice lessons, concentrating on ear-training for harmony.

Folk -- particularly Celtic, and Progressive / Psychedelic / Symphonic / Orchestral Rock are my "jams".

I'm also a Free / Libre Open Source Software / Hardware / Technologies (FLOSS / FLOSH / FLOST) zealot, who likes to think he can code.

Of late, I've been fooling with SCAMP (Suite for Computer-Assisted Music in Python), as well as making progress decoding a bunch of Korg M1 sysex dumps, with the fantasy of trying to turn them into something listenable on a Linux system using software synthesizers. (And finally, in service of learning songs without actually reading music, I've painstakingly taken a few bits of sheet music, entered them into MuseScore 3, and then played them back to learn the tunes.)
