I'm worried about eWaste and I can see that planned obsolescence is deliberately covering the planet with hardware that still works okay but the corporations deliberately make things incompatible just to create obsolescence and therefore create sales of new landfill. All that shiny stuff in a new box is just landfill, albeit it gets a brief few years of use before it spends eons in the rubbish tip. So I like Linux because it can keep old hardware in use, running versions of Firefox etc that can't run on the same hardware with the original OS. It's frustrating when developers in the GNU area neglect backwards compatibility because that means they're playing the same obsolescence game. I'm not a super-computer-nerd so I probably can't answer anyone's tech enquiries. I'm only typing this because I'm trapped here - I can't find how to log out.
